Oil Change - 9/12/2023

 I haven't been documenting all of my oil changes. Need to fix that and stay on top of documentation.

Work Performed:

• Oil Change 10W30 Amsoil Signature Series (Synthetic)
• Filter change - Mobil1 1110a

 

Mileage: 148,000

 

Wheel Lug Repair - 9/9/2023

In preparations for the DSM/Evo Shootout, I needed to take care of this as I had been on 3 wheel lug studs for a while now. This will not pass tech.

I've avoided this for so long as I absolutely dislike working on the e-brake system. 

Work Performed:

• Removed two broken wheel studs and replaced with OE wheel studs (purchased from Auto-Zone)

 

 

 

 

4Bar MAP Sensor Replaced - 3/10/2023

Work Performed:
Purchased a new Omni 4-Bar MAP Sensor from Nippon Performance. Installed it, and went for a drive. For now, all seems to be working.

Update - March/11/2023
Took the car for a bagel run which is a total of 10 miles. No issues and car seems to be running perfectly with no hesitation. Root cause for now is the 4Bar sensor. Will update in about a week.

Break Down - 3/9/2023

 For the first time in a long while, the Evo broke down on me and left me stranded on the road.

Symptoms:
Was driving, and suddenly the car was falling on it's face giving a sputtering like feeling with a huge loss of power. Eventually shutting off. Car starts back up, but eventually turns back off. When attempting to apply throttle, car dies when trying to let off the clutch for forward motion.

After repeat re-starts, the car dies within seconds. However, while waiting to a Tow Truck, if the car is left alone for a while, the idle time lasts a bit. But dies once throttle is applied.

 Possible Issues/Solutions:

• Fuel pump may be going bad - ( Though not likely )
• MAP sensor (4bar Omni MAP Sensor )

No check engine light, so will need to further diagnose.  

Additional Stuff:
Waiting on AAA was going to be a 3 hours ordeal. I opted to have a friend pull my car to his house and would pick it up later that day with my truck/trailer.
